UN Sudan envoy in town:<\/strong> Al Burhan\u2019s appearance in Cairo coincided with the visit of the UN\u2019s Sudan envoy, Volker Perthes, who met with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry yesterday, according to a ministry statement<\/a>. Perthes is spearheading efforts to end the political deadlock in the country, which he warned earlier this week<\/a> is heading towards \u201ceconomic and security collapse\u201d unless a political settlement is found.<\/p>\n
