Invoices from exporters will no longer be accepted by banks to transfer over purchases once the decision comes into effect next month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2- The <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/91cf3226-5bd2-467e-bf88-05b55aad3330\">Unified Budget Act<\/a><\/strong><strong> is now the law of the land<\/strong>, after President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ratified the legislation, according to a decree published in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/2\/Unified-Budget-Law.pdf\">Official Gazette (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HAPPENING NOW-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"tldr-story-03\" class=\"content-anchor\"><\/a> <strong>The <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.egyps.com\/\">Egypt Petroleum Show<\/a><\/strong><strong> (Egyps) is underway<\/strong>, after President Abel Fattah El Sisi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/505298100958923\">inaugurated<\/a> the event this morning at the Egypt International Exhibition Center. The event runs through Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Sisi capitalized on the energy event to stress the importance of prioritizing supporting Africa\u2019s green transition at COP27<\/strong> in Sharm El Sheikh this November, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-02-14\/cop27-host-says-priority-to-help-africa-during-energy-transition?sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a>. International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/4830c05b-7cf2-4399-9d96-0febc067bbe3\">has said<\/a> that COP27 is a chance to emphasize that emerging markets need financial support to meet climate commitments, and to bring innovative financing such as concessional lending.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO: Egypt is now officially a member of the International Energy Agency (IEA)<\/strong>, Executive Director Fatih Birol said at Egyps, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbcarabia.com\/news\/view\/93915\">CNBC<\/a>. Birol praised Egypt\u2019s recent energy developments, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.egyptindependent.com\/egypt-has-achieved-an-impressive-progress-in-benefiting-from-gas-assets-iea-head\/\">particularly capitalizing<\/a> on its natural gas assets and growing its solar industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2026 but more oil production is necessary to ease price rises:<\/strong> Birol called on OPEC+ members to increase <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-02-14\/iea-head-urges-opec-laggards-to-boost-output-to-balance-markets?srnd=premium-middle-east\">oil production to balance markets<\/a>, as oil prices continue to jump, reaching a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/02\/14\/oil-markets-ukraine-russia-tensions.html\">seven-year high<\/a> today.
