US President Joe Biden is among those trying to secure more natural gas<\/a> supplies from Doha \u2014 which is the world\u2019s second-biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas \u2014 in hopes of resolving Europe\u2019s energy crisis.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia has transferred a 4% stake (worth USD 80 bn) in Aramco to the <\/strong>kingdom\u2019s sovereign wealth fund<\/strong>, ahead of plans for the fund to tap international debt markets for the first time, Bloomberg<\/a> and Reuters<\/a> report. The country\u2019s economy grew at a 6.8% clip in 4Q2021 on the back of higher oil prices, according to a flash estimate (pdf)<\/a> from the country\u2019s General Authority for Statistics, maintaining \u201cthe fastest pace of growth in almost a decade,\u201d Bloomberg<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Fitch downgraded Turkish debt <\/strong>to B+ from BB-<\/a><\/strong> with a negative outlook<\/strong> amid high inflation, low external liquidity and weak policy credibility. The ratings agency predicts the country\u2019s economy slowing to 3.2% in 2022 from the 11% recorded last year.<\/p>\n
