<\/a> The EGX has shuffled its list of securities eligible for same-day trading, margin <\/strong>trading and short selling<\/strong> as part of its twice-yearly rebalancing, it announced in a statement (pdf)<\/a> yesterday. The number of companies on the EGX\u2019s category \u2018A\u2019 list (pdf)<\/a> \u2014 which permits same-day trading and margin trading with up to 100% collateral \u2014 has fallen to 138 from 143<\/a>. There are now 44 companies on the \u2018B\u2019 list (pdf)<\/a> \u2014 which allows same-day trading and margin trading with up to 80% collateral \u2014 up from 33 previously. Meanwhile, the EGX increased the list of securities eligible for short selling (pdf)<\/a> to 66 from 63. The changes are effective as of today\u2019s trading session.<\/strong><\/p>\n
