<\/a> Cairo-based law firm <\/strong>Levari<\/a><\/strong> is acquiring Jordan-based M&A-focused law firm <\/strong>Kassim <\/strong>Legal<\/strong>,<\/strong> in a merger that sees Levari expand its footprint to Jordan and the US, the company announced in a press release (pdf)<\/a>. Levari did not disclose the value, mechanism or current status of the acquisition, and hadn\u2019t responded to our request for comment as of dispatch time.<\/p>\n

The merger makes Levari the only MENA firm with a presence in both the UK and the US<\/strong>, and \u201cone of the few regional firms in MENA with US-specific tax, corporate and venture fund expertise,\u201d the release says. Kassim has a Washington office and specializes in US tax and M&A transactions.<\/p>\n

This is Levari\u2019s second acquisition in the past five years<\/strong>, according to the release, with the company acquiring Dubai-based law firm Al Mashreq International Advocates in 2018. With the acquisition of Kassim, Levari now has offices in London, Dubai, Washington DC, and Amman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
