The Manpower Ministry, central bank, and Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly have in recent days announced that banks and the public and private sectors will have the day off.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-01\"><\/a> <strong>THE BIG STORIES TODAY-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>#1- We have our first listing of 2022:<\/strong> Al Khair River for Development and Investment\u2019s (aka Nahr El Khair) shares began trading on the EGX this morning under the ticker KRDI.CA, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/1\/Nahr-El-Khair-trading-starts.pdf\">a statement (pdf)<\/a> from the EGX. Shares in the company rose 169% in its EGX debut, closing at EGP 0.269.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2- Edita Food Industries will invest around EGP 400 mn to add new production lines<\/strong><strong> for their baked goods and wafers segments in 2022<\/strong>, IR director Menna Shams El Din told Enterprise, confirming a report from <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3qXEsYA\">Al Mal<\/a>. The investments will also go towards expanding operations at its <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/fb75c32a-72b5-4bc0-9bf9-8b8042777dc8\">recently inaugurated<\/a> production facility in Morocco, Shams El Din said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HAPPENING NOW-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune met<\/strong><strong> at <\/strong><strong>Ittihadiya<\/strong><strong> today<\/strong>, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/492611908894209\">statement<\/a>. The two leaders discussed cooperation between the two countries on geopolitical issues, agreeing to work together on pushing for peace in Libya and Palestine. El Sisi and Tebboune also discussed the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, reiterating the importance of reaching a fair agreement on filling and operating the dam. The two sides agreed to hold a joint higher committee that would involve the prime ministers of both countries \u201cas soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-02\"><\/a> <strong>The IMF is kicking off the press briefing for the release of its World Economic Outlook<\/strong><strong> update<\/strong> shortly after we hit \u201csend\u201d on this afternoon\u2019s edition. The economic effects of the tensions are also featured heavily in the coverage, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-01-25\/qatar-can-t-come-to-europe-s-aid-if-russian-gas-is-interrupted?srnd=premium-middle-east&sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a> noting that Qatar would not be able to fill a natural gas supply gap for Europe if Russian gas flows were interrupted because of sanctions.
