Macro\u2019s shares will be listed on the EGX tomorrow under the stock ticker MCRO.CA. Macro Group plans to offer up to 45.8% of its shares in a transaction that could see the company valued at around EGP 3.5 bn, the FRA had <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d209b00e-3051-472d-89d7-1bdc2b7588df\">said last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"tldr-story-02\" class=\"content-anchor\"><\/a> <strong>Egypt plans to set up industrial mining \u201ccities\u201d for the extraction of gold, copper, and phosphate,<\/strong> Oil Minister Tarek El Molla said today at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futuremineralssummit.com\/about-the-forum\/\">Future Minerals Forum<\/a> in Riyadh, adding that work is underway to establish the country\u2019s first accredited gold refinery, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasdaq.com\/articles\/egypt-plans-first-accredited-gold-refinery-sky-news-arabia-citing-petroleum-minister\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The government is working on making more flexible <\/strong><strong>mining policies<\/strong> as part of its plans to ramp up investments in the mining industry, El Molla said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asharqbusiness.com\/article\/31223\">Bloomberg AlSharq<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>^^We\u2019ll have more<\/strong> on this story and others in tomorrow\u2019s <strong>EnterpriseAM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** CATCH UP QUICK on the top stories from today\u2019s EnterpriseAM:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>World Bank hikes Egypt growth forecast to 5.5% in FY2021-2022: <\/strong>The bank <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/e99c3ff6-ad07-4ae5-84b3-c2f3a4c275dd\">revised upwards<\/a> its prediction for Egypt\u2019s GDP growth by 0.5 percentage points due to Egypt\u2019s rising exports, growth in our tech and natural gas sectors, and a rebound in tourism.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u2026This comes amidst a forecasted slowdown in global growth this year:<\/strong> The World Bank is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/65a6a000-17e7-495b-a716-17845d2d0408\">projecting<\/a> a 1.4 percentage-point slowdown in global GDP growth to 4.1% in 2022, with developing economies to get the brunt of the hit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Egypt to see its first locally assembled EV in 2023: <\/strong>Egypt <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/e01712b2-bb02-4e7a-90c0-7ceea783a6e7\">will produce<\/a> its first locally assembled electric vehicles next year, with El Nasr Automotive in talks with two Chinese firms with the aim of signing final contracts by March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><strong>It\u2019s day three at the<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wyfegypt.com\/\">World Youth Forum<\/a><\/strong><strong> in Sharm El Sheikh: <\/strong>The day saw Planning Minister Hala El Said headline a panel called Developmental Initiatives to Confront Poverty, speaking on the importance of lowering the poverty rate in order to pave the way for future development, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/315164397320654\">cabinet statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Said highlighted the importance of the Decent Life initiative in this regard<\/strong>, detailing its progress so far. Some USD 45-50 bn have been earmarked for the initiative so far to provide education, medical services, housing, and more to beneficiaries, she indicated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also spoke today on Egypt\u2019s economic reforms<\/strong>, mentioning how they paved the way for Egypt\u2019s economic resilience and recovery from the pandemic and allowed the country to emerge largely unscathed, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3njDF1W\">Masrawy<\/a>. The local version, dubbed Shabab Balad, was launched yesterday at the World Youth Forum in the first such program in the region.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Egypt will continue to support the Palestinian cause<\/strong> and push for peace talks to continue, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated during the forum, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/483391826482884\">Ittihadiya statement<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORIES ABROAD-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"tldr-story-03\" class=\"content-anchor\"><\/a> <strong>The US could see inflation hit a 40-year high,<\/strong> with consumer prices estimated to have climbed at 7.1% y-o-y, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/us-inflation-consumer-price-index-december-2021-11641940760?mod=hp_lead_pos1\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>.
