The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid044xDmmgu3hyaULKuZSK5jw8RCD8oFnxa22N6CbfjN74qrtR3XFwF6WYZeS7JVU6Nl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">ordered<\/a> the four telecom operators to compensate ADSL customers with 10 GB and mobile users with 1 GB. He also accused Mexico of failing to stop \u201cthe Cartels who are trying to turn all of North America into a narco-trafficking playground,\u201d and threatened a similar 30% levy.<\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>All eyes on 1 August:<\/strong> Trump last week sent letters to trade partners <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/955706cf-2cf4-4c58-b260-f0f75f3088e1\/trading-on-the-egx-is-expected-to-resume-today\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">warning of new tariffs<\/a>, with his administration saying the reciprocal measures could take effect as early as 1 August. The sweeping threat includes a 50% levy on copper imports, a potential 200% tariff on pharma products, and a 35% hike on Canadian exports. JP Morgan now expects the CBE to hold rates again when the MPC meets in August. \u201cWe still look for a further 300bp of cumulative easing before the end of 2025, with cuts resuming in October,\u201d the firm said, explaining that \u201ca move lower [is] needed to be seen at least in August inflation for the CBE to consider resuming easing.\u201d <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What analysts are saying:<\/strong> Analysts welcomed the central bank\u2019s decision, saying it reflects a balanced approach. \u201cThe market is still digesting the 325 bps in cuts delivered earlier this year, and the hold sends a reassuring message that monetary policy remains balanced,\u201d economist Hany Abou El Fotouh told EnterpriseAM. He said the decision supports EGP stability and investor sentiment and reflects a \u201cmeasured approach by the CBE to balance inflation control and growth.\u201d He sees a potential cumulative cut of 400-600 bps by year-end. CI Capital\u2019s Sara Saada echoed Abou El Fotouh\u2019s remarks and told us there\u2019s scope for 200-300 bps in further cuts later this year, \u201cprovided disinflation proves sustainable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What\u2019s next? <\/strong>The MPC said it will continue to assess its policy decisions \u201con a meeting-by-meeting basis,\u201d taking into account the inflation outlook and balance of risks. It expects annual headline inflation to stabilize around current levels for the rest of 2025 before gradually declining in 2026. The committee reaffirmed it \u201cwill not hesitate to utilize all tools at its disposal\u201d to achieve its price stability mandate and steer inflation toward its 7% (\u00b12 percentage points)
