Red Sea booking cancellations were highlighted as one of these indicators by our source, but it's still too early to assess the long-term impacts. Even with a newly announced ceasefire, it\u2019s anyone\u2019s guess if this fragile truce will continue and if the memory of the conflict will continue to push tourists away to other countries seen as \u201csafer\u201d destinations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Recent <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/9f52ca1b-f475-4b1e-a09e-379871506d43\/what-could-regional-escalations-mean-for-the%253cmark%253e-suez-canal%253c%2Fmark%253e%3F\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">questions over the steady recovery of Suez Canal traffic and revenues<\/a><\/strong><strong> also <\/strong><strong>weighed on the negotiations<\/strong>, with transit receipts from the Suez Canal \u2014 a key source of state revenues and FX, alongside tourism \u2014 having already dropped 62.3% y-o-y to USD 1.8 bn in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/c0a2cc8d-588d-4507-ad86-3181558c5899\/current-account-deficit-rises-to-usd-11.1-bn-in-1h-fy-2024-2025\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">1H FY 2024-2025<\/a>. In education PPPs, the base price per student \u2014 say EGP 10-15k \u2014 is set in the contract and adjusted annually by 5-7% in line with the Education Ministry\u2019s benchmarks. But port PPPs follow a revenue-share model instead, with no fixed pricing \u2014 investors offer a share of project revenues to the state in competitive bidding rounds, Hanoura explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Risk-sharing is key to PPP success:<\/strong> PPP models must strike the right balance of risk between the state and investors to ensure project sustainability, Hanoura said. Banks act as stakeholders with rights to assets, but not the right to sell.
