style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">inked the partnership (pdf)<\/a> in the wake of the roadshow to China and Singapore that HSBC put together for GAFI last year, HSBC Egypt CEO and Deputy Chairman Todd The global competition for FDI and a place in the world\u2019s supply chain has never been more important to Egypt than it is today. <\/p><p class=\"tag-border-left\">THE BIG STORY HERE AT HOME- <\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt4\"><\/a>  <strong>El Sisi, Blinken convene to discuss Gaza ceasefire: <\/strong> US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Egypt yesterday, where he met President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for a Gaza-centered meeting, according to an Ittihadiya <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/pfbid02AB3YiCbk72FqcrvwL2icwQrqWEByuSvDDdDzhRG5M93LRx2voPnRFVmnVUZP3H7Hl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. The meeting \u201cfocused on developments in unyielding efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, exchanging detainees and providing access to needed relief aid,\u201d the statement read. El Sisi emphasized the need to implement UN resolutions related to the war.<\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ICYMI- <\/strong>Blinken is on a four-day regional trip \u2014 his fifth since the war broke in Gaza in October \u2014 due to wrap up tomorrow. He has already been to Riyadh and Qatar and is expected to visit Israel and the West Bank next. <\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The latest on the ceasefire agreement: <\/strong>Egypt has received a response from Hamas regarding the ceasefire agreement prepared by Egypt, Qatar, the US, and Israel, according to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sis.gov.eg\/Story\/191497\/Egypt-to-continue-its-efforts-to-reach-Gaza-ceasefire-agreement-Rashwan?lang=en-us\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">head of the State Information Service Diaa Rashwan<\/a>. He didn\u2019t provide any details on the matter but said that Egypt will discuss the details and hold meetings with the \u201cconcerned parties\u201d to reach an agreement as soon as possible. <\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>We could b<\/strong><strong>e inching closer to a ceasefire agreement: <\/strong>Hamas\u2019 response to the agreement has been \u201cpositive,\u201d Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said at a joint press briefing with Blinken during his time in Doha, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/israel-presses-onslaught-gazas-khan-younis-us-pursues-ceasefire-quest-2024-02-06\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reported. Blinken added that an agreement is looking \u201cpossible,\u201d although there is still \u201ca lot of work to be done.\u201d<\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Not everyone is onboard: <\/strong>An unnamed Hamas official told Reuters that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad will not accept any agreement that entails the release of hostages without \u201cguarantees that the war would end and Israeli forces leave Gaza.\u201d <\/p><p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ICYMI-<\/strong> Egyptian, Qatari, and the US officials met with Israeli intelligence officials in Paris last month where they held constructive talks centered around the proposed Hamas-Israel agreement. The agreement would see Israel halt fighting in Gaza for <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/a95fd5b1-1afe-4b80-afa9-8081db462d20\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">six weeks<\/a> in exchange for Hamas releasing the remaining Israelis it is holding hostage.
