<\/span>School\u2019s not out, but summer camps are already on the cards:<\/span> With Ramadan well<\/span> underway and summer vacation just a few months away, organized parents might already be thinking about ways to keep younger family members entertained and engaged between the months of June and August. There are a range of educational, creative, and sports-focused summer camps available for children of varying ages this year in Egypt, including some that are returning for another year of operation, and others that are in the works for their first year in the market. We have a rundown of some options for budding fashion designers, scientists, or athletes to keep them engaged and learning throughout the summer vacation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Good for the body: <\/span>Beyond Egypt<\/a><\/span> has been organizing summer camps since 2017, for children<\/span> aged between four and 10-years-old. This summer, five-day camps will be held at schools in Tagamoa and 6 October between July and the first two weeks of August. Campers can choose to learn a new sport, picking from football, dodgeball, volleyball, frisbee, and basketball. Five days will be priced around EGP 1.8k and parents can make payments through installment plans of between six and 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the mind: <\/span>Beyond Egypt\u2019s camps also include daily workshops, which bring together<\/span> campers to discuss topics including emotional growth, wellbeing, or digital addiction with coaches. The workshops start with a 10-minute introduction to the topic followed by a time for sharing. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the adventurous: <\/span>WellSpring<\/a><\/span> has a variety of day and overnight camps planned for the<\/span> summer, introducing campers to new skills and activities. Day camps for children aged from four to 12 years old will be held in New Cairo and New Giza. WellSpring provides two overnight camps \u2014 iCity Camp and Boca Adventure Camp. iCity caters to 8 to 10-year-olds and will be held at the Mountain View Club in New <\/span>Cairo<\/span>, while the Boca Adventure Camp will be held for 11 to 13-year-olds in Sahel. <\/span>WellSpring\u2019s<\/span> Youth Development Program Camp for 14 to 17-year-olds will be held at the Mountain View Club in Ras El Hekma with both day and overnight camps on offer. <\/span>WellSpring is currently giving parents 70% off of their annual day camps pass, bringing the price to EGP 7k, and payments can be made in installments through EFG Hermes Holding\u2019s consumer finance platform valU. Camp registration starts this Thursday, 30 March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lego-based learning: <\/span>Snapology of Egypt<\/a><\/span> will host hands-on educational summer camps this<\/span> year that use lego to help students delve into STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts and Math) subjects. All programs are guided by an experienced Snapologist and campers will learn teamwork, communication, and creative problem solving to create structures, robots and machines. <\/span>Camps will be split into two age groups \u2014 one group for four- and seven-year-olds, and a second group for children aged 8+ <\/span>\u2014 and students can be signed up weekly for either half or full days. The camp does not have any requirements for prior educational experience and caters to children with special needs, including ADHD and dyslexia. <\/span><\/p>\n

The dates of Snapology\u2019s camps have not yet been announced. <\/span>Parents can expect that<\/span> half days will cost EGP 1.5k a week and full days EGP 2.6k a week. One time attendance is also available at a lower price. The camps will take place at Almaza in Heliopolis and Arkan Mall in Sheikh Zayed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inclusive camps: <\/span>Bridges Academy<\/a><\/span> helps children with special needs engage through a variety<\/span> of therapies including cognitive, speech, occupational, and fitness. This year the academy will host summer camps under the theme Fashion and Fun, with therapy sessions that engage art and music. While the camps are not yet announced they will be posted on Bridges Academy\u2019s Facebook page in May and are expected to take place throughout the summer. Further camps are expected to be put on by special educational needs providers <\/span>Hope Academy<\/a><\/span> and <\/span>Launch Egypt<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

For those curious about the natural world: <\/span>Animal lovers will be able to attend \u201cedutainer\u201d<\/span>Nutty Scientist\u2019s<\/a><\/span> Zoo Camp to learn about different animal behaviors, their role in the food chain, and how we can protect them. Nutty Scientists also plan to host their Invent-O-Mania camp, investigating different creations from the past 400 years, their creators, and how their impact on the world. The camp\u2019s applications are expected to open in May for children aged five to 11 years old, with the camp running for five days a week. <\/span><\/p>\n

Create your own summer wardrobe: <\/span>Budding designers can attend <\/span>The Fashion Atelier<\/a><\/span>,<\/span> which will announce their June-August summer camps over the next month. Little ones can create their own clothes learning how to build a pattern design, cut fabric, and sew new outfits. The camp will be open for students aged six to 16 years old. <\/span><\/p>\n
