The March spike was largely driven by the US-Israeli war with Iran, surging energy prices, and a weakening EGP. On a m-o-m basis, inflation slowed to 1.1% in April from 3.2% in March, signaling that price pressures are gradually cooling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1285034090485790&set=a.103121152010429\" style=\"\">greenlit a price<\/a><\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1285034090485790&set=a.103121152010429\" style=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1285034090485790&set=a.103121152010429\" style=\"\">hike<\/a><\/strong><strong> for telecom services<\/strong>, with select package rates set to climb between 9-15% \u2014 tax included. Additionally, the sector is facing higher operational and labor costs, as well as increased investment requirements for the expansion and modernization of network infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>There\u2019s good news:<\/strong> To support digital inclusion, the NTRA has directed the launch of a new, reduced-price home internet package at EGP 150, down from the current EGP 210 minimum, along with a new mobile package at EGP 5, down from EGP 13.
