The Luna-25, follows the Luna-24 \u2014 which was sent into space 47 years ago \u2014 and was set to land on the Moon\u2019s south pole before India\u2019s Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, which is scheduled to land there next week to explore the terrain. The collision has undermined the Kremlin's effort to illustrate its space presence despite the conflict in the Ukraine and pressure of Western sanctions. Analysts and investors broadly expect that companies offering unlimited PTO will outperform the S&P 500, according to data from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-08-14\/unlimited-vacation-companies-seen-beating-s-p-500-investors-say?srnd=premium-middle-east\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg\u2019s<\/a> MLIV Pulse survey. However, it\u2019s unclear whether expectations for these companies\u2019 strong performance is because of their PTO policies in and of themselves or if it\u2019s more connected to the type of employer who would embrace these policies, a senior partner at consulting firm Mercer says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> The thing is, having access to abundant PTO doesn\u2019t actually lead to a whole lot of <\/strong><strong> vacations: <\/strong> Less than 40% of those surveyed reported to take more than 20 days off a year, and only a third said they take a full week of holiday more than once a year \u2014 and that\u2019s compared to about two-thirds of their counterparts in other regions. Unlimited paid time off \u2014 currently most popular with tech companies, although 8% of US companies offer the perk \u2014 helps employers reduce administrative headaches and slash costs. Yet for those that implement the policies two thirds said that the amount of time staff took didn\u2019t change, while any reported change was affected by employees actually taking less leave. It\u2019s hard for workers to grasp how much vacation is socially acceptable with the risk of leaving extra work for colleagues or being sidelined for competitive projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> And it might actually have the opposite effect: <\/strong> Already, some 60% of finance professionals reported monitoring work messages and emails while on vacation, according to the business information service. The case may be more extreme for those making use of unlimited PTO, with one investment officer saying, \u201cWhen I hear unlimited time off I think you are on call and accountable at ALL times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> Got (raw) milk? <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0362028X22067059?via%3Dihub#t0010\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Approximately 5% of adults in the US<\/a> have consumed raw milk, instead of its \u201csafer\u201d pasteurized version, raising concerns among health experts, according to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/premium\/article\/raw-milk-safety-health-risks\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">National Geographic<\/a>. A group of unpasteurized milk producers claim benefits such as help with asthma, allergies, lactose intolerance, eczema, and respiratory diseases, among other gastrointestinal diseases. They claim that these gains are lost when raw milk undergoes the usual pasteurization process, which kills bacteria such as E. coli, salmonella, and other harmful germs. Some of these germs can cause prenatal mortality, fetal mortality, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, paralysis, stroke and death in others with auto-immune diseases. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> It\u2019s not completely illegal in the US, but it\u2019s probably not worth the health risk: <\/strong> Since 1987, the US FDA prohibited the sale of raw milk along state lines, but that did not stop individual states from setting their own rules regarding raw milk. The new offerings come as the ministry is scrambling to put together a plan to slash our import bill by creating a strategy to boost local alternatives to imported products. The strategy, which the ministry has distributed among the Federation of Egyptian Industries\u2019 various divisions, is designed to save state coffers some USD 30 bn in import expenses. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> The current state of affairs: <\/strong> Industrial players have limited ability to secure customs clearance for various imported products, including production inputs and raw materials, as the country suffers from a prolonged FX shortage. The government has been working to give customs clearance to imports \u2014 with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/5952b6c0-1c61-4b93-b732-3000cb7c2501\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">saying in January<\/a> that the backlog at ports was cleared in January \u2014 but many voices in industry <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/60882e9e-ea02-41c6-bde1-d03d3678612a\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">have been complaining<\/a> about a shortage of hard currency to allow importers to keep their goods moving through ports. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> What the strategy entails: <\/strong> The IDA is offering 152 potential investments as part of the latest phase of its investment map, with these investments covering production inputs for five critical industries: Engineering, chemicals, pharma, construction and building, and food industries. This offering of investments comes as the IDA is also offering up 790 new industrial land plots \u2014 which are connected to utilities \u2014 spanning some 1.7 mn sqm across 14 governorates, IDA head Mohamed Abdel Karim said. Propping up local industry by taking stock of the imported products and materials that manufacturers rely on is a top priority for the government, Abdel Karim told us, saying that this will help localize industry and narrow the trade deficit. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> These investments aren\u2019t limited to Egyptian investors: <\/strong> The ministry has announced these investment options at its foreign commercial representative offices abroad, head of the Trade Ministry\u2019s Commercial Representation Authority Yehia El Wathek Bellah told Enterprise. So far, around 27 foreign investors have submitted offers for various investments that are expected to be implemented during the current fiscal year, El Wathek Bellah said. The ministry expects to reel in some USD 5.5 bn of investments from India, Turkey, and Europe in FY 2023-24 through this investment promotion, he indicated. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> A contrarian view: <\/strong> Import substitution is not necessarily the ideal way for Egypt to move towards its goal of cutting down on imports, since that would entail producing everything locally, which is inefficient and costly, Concrete CEO Mohamed Talaat Khalifa said at the Enterprise Exports and FDI Forum earlier this year. Instead, Egyptian companies should focus on creating higher value products that can then substitute an imported product, and support leveling up of the entire supply chain, Khalifa said. The strategy would be a good step in the right direction, although there are a few major hurdles that stand in the way, El Arabbeya for Integrated Industries Chairman and head of the FEI\u2019s electrical appliances division Bahaa El Adly told Enterprise. Localizing industries still requires some level of imports \u2014 particularly machinery to begin manufacturing certain products and certain raw materials, El Adly told us. Additionally, many of the products whose manufacturing we\u2019re looking to localize fall under intellectual property rights, which means we would need partnerships with foreign players to be able to manufacture them locally.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> AND- The informal economy needs to be brought into the light: <\/strong> Manufacturers operating outside the formal economy are a major sore point for industry, as they aren\u2019t held to certain quality standards and can therefore cut corners (and costs) and perform better than manufacturers who are playing by the book, Youssef said. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong> The solution? <\/strong> Manufacturers need to get a boost of FX to get the ball rolling once the correct policies are put in place to really encourage local industry, El Adly suggested. The government\u2019s goals for local industry aren\u2019t far-fetched, and can be reached gradually, but will need a focused push and a way to get over the initial hurdles, El Adly said.<\/p>\n<p
