The decline comes after the Central Bank of Egypt allowed the EGP to slide yesterday \u2014 dipping nearly 7% \u2014 after the country\u2019s two biggest state-owned banks introduced certificates of deposit with a record-high yield of 25%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The international press is still broadly focused on the US House of Representatives\u2019<\/strong><strong> struggle to vote in a new speaker<\/strong>, after Republican leader Kevin McCarthy failed to secure the necessary votes in all six rounds. However, banks can chart their own path and stay ahead of the curve by creating new sources of value in the areas of financial technology, sustainable and green financing, digital transformation, and workforce optimization. Another important factor that could expedite economic recovery will be China\u2019s ability to bounce back from the supply chain and covid-19 related disruptions. A rapid economic recovery in China could have a positive impact on global economies.<\/p>\n<p>Closer to home, in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the macro-outlook is warmer. <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7a100d25-6904-4b6e-87f7-46eb8b43da69\">The World Bank\u2019s latest MENA Economic Update<\/a> estimates that the region\u2019s economies will grow by 5.5% in 2022 \u2014 the fastest rate since 2016. It is worth noting, however, that the economic recovery may be uneven in MENA as regional averages mask broad differences between countries. Luxshare has already been producing small components of the iPhone 14 Pro Max at its factory in Shanghai, as Apple looks to offset slower production at the Taiwanese Foxconn plant since November of last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In its bid to diversify its production facilities, Apple has made significant investments in Luxshare\u2019s supply chain management. <\/strong>Luxshare has delivered last minute orders of mass producing the Pro models in just a few months, an analyst says. The company is now Luxshare\u2019s largest commercial partner, driving a jump in revenues to USD 24 bn in 2021, from USD 2 bn in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMEMBER: <\/strong>Foxconn is attempting to expand its assembly and production lines to other markets such as India, Vietnam, and the US <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ff9881b6-f59e-4fda-ab52-4910d8e454bc\">following challenges at its Zhengzhou plant<\/a>.
