Act<\/strong>, which would make the Financial Regulatory Authority the primary regulator for the ins. sector and mandate economic courts with mediating disputes relating to the law (House Constitutional and Legislative + Planning and Budgeting + Economic + SMEs committees);<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Industrial Development Authority\u2019s FY2020-2021 closing balance<\/strong>, as part of the customary end-of-year reports on the closing balances of individual government institutions (House Planning and Budgeting Committee).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-02\"><\/a> <strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD- Ceasefire talks, take three:<\/strong> Russian and Ukrainian negotiators are currently in Belarus, near its border with Poland, for a fresh round of talks to find an end to the ongoing conflict, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/sputnik.by\/20220307\/rossiyskaya-delegatsiya-na-peregovorakh-s-kievom-pribyla-v-brest-1061114431.html\">Sputnik Belarus<\/a>. The last <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/59cf5a97-295b-49c7-90d4-23c7823fa837\">round of negotiations<\/a> last week failed to achieve a ceasefire and agreements to set up humanitarian corridors to allow for civilian evacuation all but disintegrated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Russia opened new corridors for civilians to flee Ukraine\u2026 into Russia and Belarus<\/strong>, which is siding with Russia, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/asia\/top-wrap-1-ukrainians-trapped-besieged-city-fighting-blocks-evacuation-efforts-2022-03-07\/\">Reuters<\/a> reports. The corridors, which Russia\u2019s Defense Ministry announced were opening this morning, will allow civilians in Kyiv to Belarus, while those in Ukraine\u2019s second-largest city, Kharkiv, can flee to Russia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moscow isn\u2019t entertaining <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.icj-cij.org\/en\/case\/182\">a case Ukraine filed<\/a><\/strong><strong> with the International Court of Justice<\/strong><strong> (ICJ) against Russia<\/strong>, in which Ukraine is accusing Russia of using false claims of \u201cacts of genocide\u201d as a basis for its invasion. The first hearing held today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icj-cij.org\/public\/files\/case-related\/182\/182-20220301-PRE-01-00-EN.pdf\">dedicated to Ukraine\u2019s request<\/a> that the ICJ impose provisional measures to stop Russia\u2019s invasion, went on without representation from Moscow, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/ukraine-russia-face-off-world-court-over-genocide-claim-2022-03-06\/\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ON THE DIPLO FRONT-<\/strong> More sanctions against Russia from France and the EU \u201care on the table,\u201d French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/french-finance-minister-still-room-further-sanctions-against-russia-2022-03-07\/\">said today<\/a>, without providing further details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>China is still trying to toe the middle line<\/strong>, with its Foreign Minister Wang Yi saying today that Beijing has a \u201crock solid\u201d friendship with Russia and \u201cis willing to continue to play a constructive role in pushing for peace and promoting talks,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/china-provide-ukraine-humanitarian-aid-praises-russia-ties-2022-03-07\/\">Reuters<\/a> reports. China\u2019s Red Cross is also sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Wang said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That friendship is affecting corporate decisions in China:<\/strong> Ride-hailing app DiDi reversed its decision to exit Russia, saying that it will continue operations there despite announcing previously that it would shut down operations in Russia and Kazakhstan due to losses, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/c876cf4c-e91c-4a42-9f16-c424743eca71\">Financial Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MARKETS- Some traders are wagering that oil could surpass USD 200 per barrel<\/strong><strong> before the end of March<\/strong>, as prices soar in response to blocked Russian supply, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-03-07\/oil-traders-are-betting-prices-may-pass-200-a-barrel-this-month?srnd=premium-middle-east&sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports. International benchmark Brent crude surged to highs not seen since 2008 amid major supplier Russia\u2019s war with Ukraine, rising as high as USD 139 per barrel during yesterday\u2019s trading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apparently not too worried about soaring oil: The Biden administration, <\/strong>which is mulling a unilateral move to ban imports of Russian crude without its European partners (who are heavily dependent on Russian supply), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-03-07\/u-s-weighs-acting-without-allies-on-ban-of-russian-oil-imports\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported this morning, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>US allies including South Korea and Japan would likely follow Biden\u2019s lead if he does<\/strong><strong> move to bar Russian imports<\/strong>, \u201ceven though it will leave them vulnerable,\u201d one strategist said. Around 10 of the companies are currently valued at USD 1 bn, and investments in the sector have doubled to USD 5.5 bn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>YouTube Kids gets a revamp \u2014 actually prioritizing the kids this time: <\/strong>YouTube Kids, the first children\u2019s version of a tech product, has shifted its method for curating children-appropriate content, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-youtube-kids-cleaned-up-its-act-11646476200?mod=hp_lead_pos4\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>writes. When the platform was initially introduced, it was \u201cruled by algorithms with little human intervention,\u201d but following criticism that the platform wasn\u2019t prioritizing children\u2019s safety, it started depending more on humans to select the most kid-suitable content. In 2019, the company removed mns of low quality videos from its kids platform, resulting in almost 80% of the videos available being scrapped.
