The virtual five-day Davos Agenda is on until Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** CATCH UP QUICK on the top stories from today\u2019s EnterpriseAM:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Egypt\u2019s first-ever SPAC to list on EGX by next month:<\/strong> The SPAC <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a15c05fc-a3a2-41f6-90c8-e99e58fafca5\">will list<\/a> \u201cat the end of this month or early next month\u201d and would have initial capital of EGP 10 mn, Financial Regulatory Authority chief Mohamed Omran said.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nahr Elkhair shares <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/fec8431b-7be6-4218-a9c7-316cc0cce7e4\">could begin trading<\/a><\/strong><strong> on the EGX this week:<\/strong> Nahr Elkhair Development and Investment will sell as much as 61.5% of its shares on the bourse, potentially giving the IPO a transaction value of c. EGP 307 mn, Omran also said.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More green debt coming in 1H2022?<\/strong> We could see a USD 400 mn <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7efdd707-7dc3-45f2-bfe5-e9990f7b5f92\">corporate green bond issuance<\/a> in 1H2022 which will be used to finance renewable energy projects and could be cross-listed on the EGX and the German or Luxembourg bourses, Omran added.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-02\"><\/a> <strong>Expectations of sooner-than-expected interest rate hikes from global central banks is<\/strong><strong> pushing up yields on government bonds<\/strong>, triggering a sell-off around the world. In the US, yields on two-year notes hit 1.04% \u2014 their highest since February 2020 \u2014 as the market begins to price in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/44a3c176-de70-4a3d-85f8-ca251ff4d1f7\">four, rather than three<\/a>, interest rate hikes from the US Federal Reserve this year. Nonetheless, I\u2019m currently a stock trader at Aspire Capital\u2019s Pioneers Securities. I got the job because of my abilities to tell a story to people. The more financial and technical aspects I learned on the job through training and through help from the team. We don\u2019t divide industries between us at Pioneers \u2014 instead, we all work on everything and get that breadth of exposure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The best part of my job is that you\u2019re always on your toes. <\/strong>The stock market always has something new every day and you need to be alert and think and move fast. In my case, I tend to get more creative in times of crisis. People think that market crashes are a bad thing, but it's a great time to enter the market and wait for the next upcycle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The worst part of my job is that it\u2019s very stressful. <\/strong>Sometimes you need to catch a breather, but it\u2019s hard to do that. If you disconnect for even a few days, you miss out on so much and you\u2019ll need to catch up. It\u2019s also a job that is better done on the ground. Because we work in teams, we work better when we\u2019re in the office and can collaborate face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I feel the energy and petrochem sectors are a hidden gem in the market. <\/strong>They have a lot of potential and this showed especially when they proved to be resilient in the face of market dips. They produce needs rather than wants and there\u2019s a lot of liquidity in the sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My theory of investment is to be a chameleon, changing colors based on the client.<\/strong> There isn\u2019t a cookie cutter outline for investing and it all depends on the client\u2019s psychology. You have to understand their risk appetite and their interest and it\u2019s important that you have the ability to do that in a brief window. This will affect everything from the tone you speak with and how you deliver news.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The most important factor I look at before recommending an investment is how lucrative it is and volumes. <\/strong>They have to go hand in hand or else it\u2019s a risky investment that you might not be able to get out of easily. After that, you combine these two factors with the fundamentals and the news around the company at the moment to have a 360\u00b0 view of the potential of the company. The timing is also very important and you should aim to see this potential before the rest of the market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m very optimistic about the EGX30\u2019s performance in 2022. <\/strong>The stock market needs a strong push through fresh paper and the return of foreign investors. A lot of foreign institutions exited the market in the past few years due to uncertainty and changing regulations. However, I think that the year ahead will be positive as these changes in regulation are actually quite beneficial to the market and that will begin to play out. It\u2019s a great time to enter the market, especially in sectors such as banking and non-banking financial services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The high interest rate environment is not necessarily worrying. <\/strong>It\u2019s always competition to an extent, but people who have tried their hand at the stock market know that it's much more lucrative. So I think a high interest rate environment would impact the amount of new clients that decide to invest in the stock market, but existing clients will remain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The last great thing I watched is <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/80160037\">Queer Eye<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> The last season featured a new approach where they brought on a lot of people that make a difference in a community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m currently reading <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/37819094-13-things-mentally-strong-women-don-t-do\">13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> I like it so far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In my freetime, I like to work out and do things that relieve stress such as spinning classes and yoga.<\/strong> I\u2019m also a very social person and I like to constantly meet new people as I feel it helps expand my network. I\u2019m the kind of person that will speak to strangers while at the sports club [laughs].
