The plants \u2014 a wind farm in Tetouan and a solar facility in Tiznit \u2014 should help offset some 334k tons of CO2 annually, the statement said. The Tetouan wind farm is scheduled to come online in 2029 and will generate 390 GWh annually, while the Tiznit solar facility is slated for commissioning in late 2027 with an expected output of 115 GWh annually. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Not Qair\u2019s first moves in North Africa: <\/strong>Qair signed <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/53ccbd32-bf71-4ecb-ac9a-7308fd01f7e7\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">power purchase agreements<\/a> for two solar plants in Tunisia last month \u2014 one with a capacity of 100 MW in El Ksour (Gafsa) and the other with 200 MW in Khebnah (Sidi Bouzid).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>\u2026nor in Africa:<\/strong> Qair is preparing to commence construction of a 100 MWp solar photovoltaic project with 256 MWh of energy storage in Mauritius, according to the press release. Over in Chad, it is developing two 15 MWp solar farms in Gassi and Lamadji, complemented by an 8 MWh battery energy storage system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ALSO- <\/strong><strong>Green <\/strong><strong>energy <\/strong><strong>player <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/cme-africa-s-a\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">CME Africa<\/a><\/strong><strong> reached financial close on a MAD 4.8 bn (c. USD 518 mn) <\/strong><strong>380 MW wind project in <\/strong><strong>Morocco\u2019s <\/strong><strong>Bir Anzerane<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/detafour.com\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%BA%D8%B1%D8%A8-%D9%8A%D8%B9%D8%B2%D8%B2-%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%AA%D9%87-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A5%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%82%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Detafour<\/a> reported earlier this month citing a LinkedIn post by CME general manager Hassan Nadir. Qatar is looking to reach 4 GW of renewable power capacity by 2030.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- <\/strong><strong>Jordan\u2019s <\/strong><strong>Energy Ministry is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) <\/strong><strong>for a <\/strong><strong>200 MW solar photovoltaic project<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.petra.gov.jo\/Include\/InnerPage.jsp?ID=35839&lang=ar&name=economic_news\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Petra News Agency<\/a> reported on Wednesday. The project will be developed under a build-own-operate model and its output will power the national grid. Applicants can find the request for the EOI on the Energy Ministry\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.memr.gov.jo\/Default\/Ar\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> starting 15 May.
