The GGIP is 45% owned by TotalEnergies, with Basra Oil Company and QatarEnergy owning 30% and 25%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>More details: <\/strong>The solar facility will be developed in four phases, with the first set to begin later this year and lasting for three years, Abdul Hussein told Shafaq News. The plant \u2014 spanning 2.2k hectares \u2014 will cut carbon emissions by 2 mn while providing electricity to 350k households, according to TotalEnergies\u2019 website. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER-<\/strong> TotalEnergies <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/2ab0300a-1e61-40b2-b1ec-4979801500e5\/qatarenergy-partners-with-totalenergies-on-solar-plant-in%253cmark%253e-iraq%253c%2Fmark%253e\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">partnered<\/a> with QatarEnergy last October to develop GGIP\u2019s solar plant, which was reported then to have a 1.25 GW capacity.
