Both countries will present their concerns at the upcoming EU leaders' meeting in Budapest. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER- France just called for flexibility on incoming EU emission fines:<\/strong> France  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/68ecb505-8726-47d0-ab53-31bd2e5a7c01\/today:-manara-inches-closer-to-minority-acquisition-in-zambian-mines\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">wants more \u201cflexibility\u201d<\/a>  with the implementation of the EU\u2019s incoming <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/climate.ec.europa.eu\/eu-action\/transport\/road-transport-reducing-co2-emissions-vehicles\/co2-emission-performance-standards-cars-and-vans_en#:~:text=The%20targets%20that%20will%20apply,%2Fkm%20(2030%2D2034)\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">stricter car emissions<\/a> next year, which could lead to over EUR 10 bn in fines for European carmakers, such as Renault and Volkswagen, which are already struggling due to cooling demand on EVs. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>And Europe\u2019s EVs factories are already struggling: <\/strong>German carmaker Audi's EV factory in Brussels  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/68ecb505-8726-47d0-ab53-31bd2e5a7c01\/today:-manara-inches-closer-to-minority-acquisition-in-zambian-mines\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">may close<\/a>  after failing to secure a viable investor. Despite interest from 26 parties, none offered a \u201cviable and sustainable concept\u201d for the factory\u2019s future, Audi COO Gerd Walker said.
