Adnoc <\/strong>and Masdar signed a collaboration agreement with Microsoft to<\/strong> advance <\/strong>AI tech and low-carbon solutions<\/strong>, according to a statement<\/a>. The companies will look into possibilities of powering Microsoft\u2019s data with renewable energy sources from Masdar. They will also explore the use of AI in carbon capture and storage projects and low-carbon ammonia and hydrogen projects.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER- Adnoc, Masdar, and Microsoft recently <\/strong>released a joint report<\/a><\/strong> highlighting <\/strong>the transformative potential of AI for the clean energy sector.<\/strong> The report bets on AI applications\u2019 potential to make energy operations and grid connections more efficient and predicts that AI-driven energy demand could stimulate the innovation of carbon-free energy solutions.<\/p>\n

AI\u2019s role in the energy transition took center stage at the opening session of the <\/strong>Abu<\/a><\/strong>Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference<\/a><\/strong> (ADIPEC)<\/strong>.<\/strong> Adnoc Group CEO and Industry and Advanced Technology Minister Sultan Al Jaber called for \u201cintegrating renewable energy, nuclear energy, and gas in the most cost-and carbon-efficient way\u201d to meet the surge in energy demand created by the \u201cexponential growth of AI,\u201d during his opening speech at the forum (watch, runtime: 2:56:25<\/a>). To realize this potential, investments in the power sector need to grow to at least USD 1.5 tn to meet the surging demand from AI, Al Jaber said. <\/p>\n

Adnoc is on its way to integrating \u201cAI agents\u201d across its entire value chain<\/strong>, which \u201cwill analyze petabytes of data,\u201d Al Jaber said. It will proactively and autonomously identify operational improvements\u201d and enhance energy efficiency, Al Jaber said. The Financial Times<\/a> also took note of Al Jaber\u2019s remarks. <\/p>\n

Adnoc is earmarking<\/strong> USD 23 bn to invest in decarbonization, focusing<\/strong> on infrastructure<\/strong> and AI tech, <\/strong>Jaber said. These investments might help the company achieve its 2030 goal to reduce emissions by 25% ahead of schedule, he boasted. <\/p>\n
