The playbook is designed to guide governments, development finance institutions, and the private sector in accelerating clean energy investments in the Global South. To meet the goal of tripling renewable energy by 2030, annual investments must increase five to seven times, reaching at least USD 1.7 tn. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Egypt was recognized for its \u201cholistic\u201d transition strategy:<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> Egypt\u2019s efforts were hailed in the report which centered Egypt as a \u201c <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/initiatives.weforum.org\/playbook-of-solutions\/case-study-details\/egypt-country-platform\/aJYTG0000000JNd4AM\" rel=\"noopener\">success\u201d case study<\/a><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> in energy transition alongside three other emerging economies, giving a few nods to Egypt\u2019s multiple policy and regulatory frameworks, as well as its financing strategy that leverages diverse sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">SOLAR-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Emirates <\/strong><strong>Airlines <\/strong><strong>taps DEWA for solar project: <\/strong>Emirates Airlines has recruited Etihad Clean Energy Development(ESCO) \u2013 a unit of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority \u2013 to build a large-scale solar photovoltaic project at its Emirates Engineering Centre in Dubai, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/etihadesco.ae\/emirates-pr\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>. Just under 40k solar panels will be installed to cover 37% of the center\u2019s energy needs while reducing annual carbon emissions by13k tons. Esco will handle the development, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning, as well as 20 years of operations and maintenance. The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.emirates.com\/media-centre\/emirates-to-build-new-us-950-million-engineering-facility\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">center<\/a> \u2013 announced in 2023 and planned over 1 million square metres to support the airline\u2019s needs into the 2040s \u2013 aims to prop up the UAE\u2019s aviation infrastructure and further attract global players within the aviation industry supply chain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">WATER MANAGEMENT- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>SFD + Global Water Organization agree to support global water projects: <\/strong>The Saudi Fund for Development (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sfd.gov.sa\/en\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">SFD<\/a>) and the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globalwaterexhibition.com\/saudi-arabias-mbs-announces-establishment-of-global-water-organization\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">one-year-old<\/a> Saudi Global Water Organization have signed an MoU to develop a framework to finance water projects around the world, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sfd.gov.sa\/en\/n815\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>.
