Brookfield <\/strong>to pour up to USD 1.1 bn in e-fuels startup Infinium:<\/strong> Toronto-based Brookfield Asset Management will invest up to USD 1.1 bn in US e-fuels startup Infinium<\/a> to help advance the growth of the startup's e-fuels platform, according to a statement<\/a>. An initial investment of USD 200 mn will support Infinium\u2019s e-fuels project Roadrunner<\/a> in West Texas, with an additional USD 850 mn committed for future projects, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

The details: <\/strong>Infinium needs to meet specific conditions to receive the full funding from Brookfield, including securing long-term offtake agreements, according to the <\/span>Financial Times<\/a>. The startup has already signed a contract with American Airlines to supply the airline with commercial volumes of its eSAF products from its Roadrunner project starting 2026, the statement notes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why this matters: <\/strong>eSAF is seen by the industry as a cleaner alternative to SAF<\/a>, yet its production remains scant. Infinium says its e-fuels could help slash lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by 90% or more in comparison with traditional fuels.<\/p>\n
