Kuwait <\/strong>shortlists bidders for solar plant: <\/strong>The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has shortlisted several global utility developers for the 1.1 GW third phase of the Al Dibdibah Power and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy solar project in Jahra Governorate, Trade Arabia<\/a> reports, picking up a company statement on X<\/a>. The successful bidder will be responsible for the construction, financing, and operations of the project under a 30-year power purchase agreement with Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy.<\/p>\n

Five consortiums put their name in the hat:<\/strong> A consortium made up of KSA\u2019s Acwa Power and Kuwait\u2019s Alternative Energy Projects Company<\/a> were shortlisted for the project, as well as UAE\u2019s Masdar with Kuwait\u2019s Fouad Alghanim & Sons<\/a>, France\u2019s EDF Renewables with Kuwait\u2019s Al Sagar<\/a>, China\u2019s Jinko Power with Japan\u2019s Jera<\/a>, and France\u2019s Total Energies Renewables with Vietnam\u2019s Trungnam Group<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This has been in the works:<\/strong> KAPP invited developers<\/a> to submit their bids for the project last January. <\/p>\n

Advisors: <\/strong>Ernst & Young are acting as KAPP\u2019s lead and financial advisor on the solar tender. DLA Piper serves as the government authority\u2019s legal advisor and DNV is acting as the technical and environmental advisor for the project. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
