Another wind farm in Ras Ghareb is officially underway: <\/strong>Our friends at renewables firm Infinity Power<\/a>, Emirati state-run renewables giant Masdar<\/a>, and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) have made plans to build a 200 MW wind farm in Ras Ghareb official after inking a trilateral purchase power agreement yesterday, according to a joint statement (pdf)<\/a> from Masdar and Infinity Power. The announcement confirms an EnterpriseAM Egypt story earlier this month<\/a> that Masdar was close to inking an agreement for the project.<\/p>\n

The details:<\/strong> The alliance will develop, finance, and operate the project, which is expected to come online in October 2026, according to a cabinet statement<\/a>. EEHC will purchase the power produced. The project will cost some USD 216.7 mn, according to a project update<\/a> by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is partially funding the project.<\/p>\n

Infinity and Masdar have more in the pipeline: <\/strong>Masdar, Infinity Power, and our friends at Hassan Allam Utilities are also building a USD 10 bn, 10 GW wind farm project<\/a> in Sohag that is set to be one of the largest wind farms globally and the largest in Africa.
