Some 2.3 mn tons of the green hydrogen will be used locally while 6 mn tons will be directed to exports. The strategy seeks to attract investments worth approximately EUR 120 bn, leveraging Tunisia\u2019s industrial and energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Tunisia is going big on hydrogen this year: <\/strong>TE H2 \u2014 a JV between French energy giant TotalEnergies and Luxembourg\u2019s Eren Groupe \u2014 and Austrian utilities company Verbund <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/75ba59db-ce64-4b2d-b669-5423cb11b7d9\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">signed an agreement in May<\/a> with Tunisia to study the production of 200k tons of green hydrogen for export annually. Acwa Power also <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/48171ef9-b9e4-469c-a779-1a384c2949f5\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">signed an MoU<\/a> with the Tunisian government to develop a USD 6.2 bn renewables-powered green hydrogen project capable of producing 200k tons of green hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>A hydrogen corridor project is also in the works: <\/strong>The hydrogen will be exported to Central Europe via the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.south2corridor.net\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">SoutH2 Corridor<\/a> pipeline \u2013 expected to be operational by 2030 \u2013 which connects North Africa to Italy, Austria, and Germany.
