The material \u2014 which combines DNA and gelatin into an ordered layered <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aerogel.org\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">aerogel<\/a> structure \u2014 can reduce temperatures by up to 16\u00b0C under direct sunlight, and is repairable, recyclable, and biodegradable. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">What is aerogel, Enterprise? <\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Aerogels are the world\u2019s lightest solid materials, composed of up to 99.98% air by volume, according to a <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aerogel.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">. Their porous properties make it exhibit the lowest thermal conductivity of any solid known. The material can be made of a wide variety of substances, including silica, metal oxides, organic polymers, and carbon.
