<\/strong>More details <\/strong>from Egypt\u2019s newest hydrogen consortium:<\/strong> Our friends at Infinity Power, Hassan Allam Utilities, Masdar and BP have signed a USD 12 bn agreement to build an 8 GW green hydrogen and ammonia plant, Infinity Power Chairman Mohamed Mansour told Al Arabyia<\/a>. <\/p>\n

ICYMI-<\/strong> BP <\/span>signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) this week<\/a> with Infinity, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Masdar to explore establishing a multi-phase green hydrogen in Egypt. Under the agreement, BP would serve as the main developer and operator of the proposed project which will focus on exports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what we know: <\/strong>The project is currently in the feasibility study stage and will have an initial pilot phase of 300 MW to produce green ammonia, Mansour said. The project will be financed through a mix of equity and bank loans and is expected to reach financial close within two to three years. The firms are yet to secure land for the green energy complex.<\/p>\n

ON THE WIND ENERGY SIDE-<\/p>\n

Another update on Egypt\u2019s mega wind project: <\/strong>The Infinity Power-Hassan Allam Utilities-Masdar consortium have reportedly received the land for their USD 11 bn, 10 GW wind farm<\/a> project in Sohag yesterday, Mansour told Al Arabiya. The consortium will conduct a year-long wind study before financial closure. The land access agreement was signed with the Egyptian government last month. <\/p>\n

ICYMI- Construction on the mega project was delayed: <\/strong>Construction on the 10 GW wind project will start in March 2026<\/a>, Mansour told Bloomberg in an interview last week. Construction was initially set for this year but fell behind due to land procurement issues in West Sohag.
