The project \u2014 which is supported by the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/qrdi.org.qa\/en-us\/#news\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Qatar National Research Fund<\/a> and is in collaboration with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qatar.tamu.edu\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas A&M University at Qatar<\/a> and India\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl-india.org\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">National Chemical Laboratories<\/a> \u2014 has developed a prototype chemical reactor at the Qatar Science and Technology Park. Its pilot program has begun actively producing green hydrogen using sunlight and wastewater. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Qatar\u2019s universities have been rolling out green tech: <\/strong>Qatar University\u2019s (QU) Agricultural Research Station (ARS) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/47df2d68-5e11-44af-ba4b-e51ac458b14b\/qatar-university-develops-vertical-farming%253cmark%253e-tech%253c%2Fmark%253e-for-soil-free-veggies\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">unveiled new vertical farming tech<\/a> to employ a hydroponic cultivation system back in January. The new system will allow Qatar to produce vegetables year-round while reducing resource consumption. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">ELECTRIC VEHICLES-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Saudi\u2019s <\/strong><strong>EV market set to boom:<\/strong> Saudi Arabia\u2019s EV industry is set to grow significantly, with 71% of Saudi consumers likely to purchase a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) this year, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gulfbusiness.com\/in-numbers-saudi-arabia-poised-for-ev-boom-reveals-survey\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Gulf Business<\/a> reports, citing consulting firm <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alixpartners.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">AlixPartners<\/a> \u2019 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alixpartners.com\/insights\/electric-vehicle-consumer-sentiment-survey-2024\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">2024<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alixpartners.com\/insights\/electric-vehicle-consumer-sentiment-survey-2024\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">International Electric Vehicle Consumer-Sentiment Survey<\/a>. Saudi buyers displayed high awareness of Chinese EV brands, with BYD topping brand recognition, and upcoming Lucid and Ceer EV production is expected to influence consumer preference. The survey also found that although global customers express concern over cost and charging infrastructure, Saudis are more focused on vehicle safety, complexity, and support services, the report adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>KSA has big EV goals: <\/strong>Saudi Arabia has joined the Accelerating to Zero Coalition, committing to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/ksa\/en\/news\/story\/f404ca54-5773-400a-9629-22350d432b0d\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">net-zero new car and van sales by 2040<\/a>.
