The country\u2019s EV industry is supported by lower import duties than those imposed on cars with fuel engines. The UAE came in at a distant second at 13%. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>EV sales are up globally: <\/strong>Almost 14 mn EVs were registered globally in 2023, bringing the total number of EVs on the road to 40 mn. Sales increased by 3.5 mn cars in 2023, a 35% y-o-y increase.
