<\/strong>Swiss pilot Bertrand Piccard<\/strong> plans to take off from Abu Dhabi on a <\/strong>hydrogen-powered flight around the <\/strong>world in 2028<\/strong>, as he looks to promote the practicality of hydrogen aviation as a means to decarbonize the industry, Wam<\/a> reports. Piccard\u2019s hydrogen plane the Climate Impulse<\/a> is being constructed with innovative propulsion technology.<\/p>\n

More about the plane: <\/strong>Piccard partnered<\/a> with Swiss watchmaker Breitling and Syensqo<\/a> to develop the hydrogen plane. The aircraft can reach speeds of up to 180 km\/h and includes two hydrogen tanks and two propulsion engines.<\/p>\n

Not Piccard\u2019s first adventure: <\/strong>Piccard, the founder of Solar Impulse<\/a>, is also renowned for his 2015-2016 solar flight around the world which took off and landed in Abu Dhabi. <\/p>\n
