As part of the agreement, Siemens Energy will support the UAE\u2019s Industrial Development Bureau \u2014 ADDED\u2019s acting representative \u2014 to localize Abu Dhabi\u2019s manufacturing capabilities and provide tech solutions for carbon removal projects in the UAE\u2019s industrial sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Who\u2019s doing what? <\/strong>ADDED will be tasked with identifying and assessing ideal locations for the implementation of decarbonization technologies, and will work on streamlining the process of acquiring industrial licenses and incentives for businesses. Siemens Energy will support R&D projects aimed at leveraging waste heat recovery, electrification solutions, grid technology, and energy storage technologies in a bid to push down the Emirate\u2019s current energy consumption rates. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ALSO WORTH KNOWING ABOUT THIS MORNING-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dewa<\/strong><strong>\u2019s hydroelectric power plant is underway:<\/strong> As part of its 250 MW pumped-storage <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/123719bb-1f18-42c1-8b2e-0d497eaa0fef\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">hydroelectric power plant<\/a> in Hatta, UAE\u2019s Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a AED 10.9 mn contract to an undisclosed firm to lay a 562-meter Glass-Reinforced Epoxy water pipeline for the project. In September, Dewa announced that the AED 1.4 bn plant \u2014 the first station of its kind in the GCC region \u2014 is 74% complete, and is expected to launch in 1Q 2025.
