<\/a> Zero Carbon Ventures bags USD 5 <\/strong>in seed<\/strong> funding:<\/strong> UAE-based Zero Carbon Ventures<\/a>, which is dedicated to bringing carbon-reducing technologies to the region, has raised USD 5 mn in seed funding from Dubai ruling family member Sheikh Ahmed bin Mana, the company said in a statement<\/a> on Thursday. The Emirati businessman was also appointed as Zero Carbon\u2019s strategic investor and chairman of the board of directors.<\/p>\n

Where the money\u2019s going:<\/strong> The funds will help the company deliver decarbonization projects and accelerate its efforts towards global sustainability initiatives on a wider scale, the statement read.<\/p>\n

More on Zero Carbon:<\/strong> Founded in 2022, the company signed a preliminary pact<\/a> with Masdar City in October of last year to collaborate on CO2-reducing tech in the UAE\u2019s capital. It has since been investing and applying innovative tech across four key areas: waste, water, energy, and materials. The company has offices in Masdar City and Abu Dhabi Global Market and is backed by British climate tech-firm Levidian, according to the company website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sponsoring carbon capture:<\/strong> One of their current projects involves tackling the issue of methane emitted from landfills by capturing the gas before it escapes into the atmosphere and repurposing it to valuable commodities, according to their website.<\/p>\n
