<\/a>One step closer for <\/strong>Bahrain solar plant<\/strong>:<\/strong> Turkish-based Goksin Construction has been tapped to develop a USD 31.8 mn 100 MW solar power project in Bahrain\u2018s Askar landfill, Bahrain News Agency<\/a> reported earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The d<\/strong>etails:<\/strong> The project will be built on a 2 sq km landfill site and will include a landfill gas extraction and treatment system and a drainage system to prepare the site for the solar project's construction and operation. A previous tender for the same project<\/a> was issued by Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority in October 2022, and five companies submitted proposals at the time: Al Nosaif Contracting and Excavation, Goksin Construction Limited Company<\/a>, SEPCOIII International<\/a>, Alpha Energy Generations<\/a>, and Al Hafeera Contracting Company<\/a>.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER<\/strong>- <\/strong>Bahrain recently said it plans to increase its renewable energy<\/a> share to 5% of total electricity generation by 2025. As part of its National Energy Transition Plan, it aims to raise this target to 20% by 2035.
