Between 2010 and 2020, the rate of melting was 65% faster than in the preceding decade, the research found. 30-50% of glacier ice will be lost by 2100 under a 1.5\u00b0C or 2\u00b0C global warming scenario. 75% will melt by the end of the century under a 3\u00b0C scenario, which the world is on track to reach with the current climate policies, the newswire notes.
