KSA, Iraq discuss interconnection project: <\/strong>Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met in Riyadh with Iraq\u2019s Electricity Minister Ziyad Fade to discuss progress on the 1 GW electrical interconnection project between the two countries, according to a statement<\/a>. The interconnection project will be used to export electricity to Iraq, including electricity generated by renewable energy, and will extend 435 km from Arar in northern Saudi Arabia to Yusufiya near Baghdad, the Saudi Gazette<\/a> reported during the MoU signing ceremony last year. The two countries signed an agreement<\/a> in September to begin work on the project after having determined the paths for the electricity lines and their connection points.<\/p>\n
