The agreement builds upon an <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/5a0ef0eb-e32e-40cd-a8fc-e395e5d3d6d4\">MoU<\/a> signed in October and will see HRDF covering 75% of the cost of the training program, which will amount to USD 50 mn over a five year period, <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.lucidmotors.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/lucid-middle-east-announces-signing-mou-human-resources\">Lucid<\/a> said earlier in October.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BACKGROUND-<\/strong> Lucid said 80% of all its electric vehicles will be <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/dd5f8ad6-48c3-43f9-9f3b-16ec8951b987\">made in Saudi Arabia<\/a> by 2030 late last year. The company also plans to produce 155k EVs yearly in Saudi Arabia once full-fledged production capacity is achieved by 2025, Lucid\u2019s Vice President for MENA, Faisal Sultan, said at the time. Lucid aims to build <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lucidmotors.com\/media-room\/lucid-group-gearing-up-first-international-plant-saudi-arabia\">a full production plant<\/a> in the country that could potentially earn the EV manufacturer USD 3.4 bn over 15 years. Construction of the facility began in May 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PIF is a majority shareholder: <\/strong>Saudi Arabia\u2019s sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund (PIF) <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/3c4f3adf-be99-4433-bfe4-037846b97b7d\">invested over USD 1 bn<\/a> in Lucid Motors \u2014 the brand name of Lucid Group \u2014 in 2018, to hold a majority stake of over 65% in the firm.
