<\/a> Egypt and Denmark have extended a <\/strong>bilateral energy <\/strong>cooperation agreement<\/a><\/strong> through to 2025<\/strong>, which will see the two countries work on Egypt\u2019s clean energy transition, according to a statement<\/a> released this week. This came during Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen\u2019s visit to Cairo on Monday, where she held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.<\/p>\n

Could Denmark help with Egypt\u2019s<\/strong> green hydrogen ambitions?<\/strong> During his meeting with Frederiksen, Madbouly talked about expanding relations to include green hydrogen projects and pharma, according to a statement<\/a>. Frederiksen also highlighted her country\u2019s desire to boost cooperation with Egypt across the board in energy, maritime transport, and logistics, among other fields.<\/p>\n

Frederiksen + El Sisi also met:<\/strong> El Sisi wrapped up his meeting with the Danish PM with a 15-minute presser (watch, runtime: 14:23<\/a>), highlighting renewable energy and water security as important topics of discussion.<\/p>\n

The Danish private sector is already showing interest: <\/strong>Egypt\u2019s Planning Minister Hala El Said met with a delegation from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners<\/a> (CIF) earlier this month<\/a> to discuss joint cooperation on potential investments in Egypt\u2019s green sector. No information was disclosed on which specific projects were discussed.
