The agreements are with companies from Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Japan, Singapore, Germany, India, Kuwait, and the UAE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A solid step forward: <\/strong>The signing of term sheet agreements cements preliminary agreements signed before regulatory framework is issued by Oman\u2019s Energy and Minerals Ministry, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tradearabia.com\/news\/OGN_407446.html\">Trade Arabia<\/a> reports. Oman <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/27fb8a86-6d9f-4993-9f3b-140ba8ba7c03\">allocated land<\/a> in January within special economic zones for green hydrogen and green ammonia production. Oman unveiled a strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/e806e16c-672f-4775-8776-6f597297731a\">last October<\/a> to boost investment in green hydrogen to USD 140 bn by 2050.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The details: <\/strong>The projects will span an estimated area of 1.5k sq km in Al Wusta and Dhofar with agreements covering a period of 47 years \u2014 seven years for the development and construction of projects and 40 years for operation, the news agency reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BP was behind two of the investments:<\/strong> BP Alternative Energy Investments signed two agreements to develop green hydrogen facilities, one in Duqm spanning \u200b\u200b320 sq km, and the other in Dhofar on an area of 427 sq km, according to the news agency. Each project will produce 3.3 GW of electricity and generate 150k tons of green hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And the four remaining agreements firm up previously announced projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SalalaH2: <\/strong>The Salalah Green Energy project covers an area of \u200b\u200b419 sq km and will generate volumes similar to the BP agreements, the news agency reports. Saudi\u2019s Acwa Power and US-based Air Products teamed up with Omani OQ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acwapower.com\/news\/acwa-power-oq-and-air-products-sign-joint-development-agreement-toward-world-scale-green-hydrogen-based-ammonia-production-facility-in-oman\/\">last May<\/a> on a \u201cmulti-bn USD\u201d green hydrogen project in Oman\u2019s Salalah Freezone.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/geo.om\/index.php\">Green Energy Oman<\/a><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> The project covers an area of 337 sq km and will generate volumes similar to the BP agreements, the news agency reports. In January, Oman\u2019s OQ <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/1a4f9fb9-bffc-4ab7-bf65-bdded865643e\">signed<\/a> an agreement with Oman Shell to jointly produce some 1.8 mn tons of green hydrogen in Oman.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Hyport Duqm: <\/strong>The project covers an area of 150 \u200b\u200bsq km with a production capacity of 2 GW of electricity used to generate 70k tons of hydrogen annually. The Hyport consortium is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deme-group.com\/news\/hyport-coordination-company-signs-second-land-reservation-agreement-green-hydrogen-and-ammonia\">joint venture<\/a> between Belgian DEME and Omani OQ.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/h2v.eu\/hydrogen-valleys\/green-hydrogen-chemicals-oman\">Green Hydrogen and Chemicals<\/a><\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>The project covers an area of \u200b\u200b80 sq km with a production capacity of 1 GW used to generate 38k tons of hydrogen per year.
