Masdar nabs an award for Uzbekistani project: <\/strong>UAE renewables giant Masdar was awarded the Central Asian Transaction of the Year for 2022 for its 500 MW Zarafshan Wind Project<\/a> in Uzbekistan at the Project Finance International (PFI<\/a>) Awards event in London, the company said in a tweet<\/a>. The project \u2014 which is Central Asia\u2019s largest wind farm<\/a> \u2014 is expected to cost some USD 600 mn to build and to come online by end-2024. The Zarafshan Wind Project will replace 1.1 mn tons of CO2 annually and power 500k homes.<\/p>\n

The UAE\u2019s <\/strong>Beeah Group<\/a><\/strong> received the Blueprint of the Future award from US-based<\/strong> Johnson Controls<\/a><\/strong> for its AI-integrated HQ in Sharjah<\/strong>, Wam reported<\/a> this week. The building \u2014 the first of its kind in the region \u2014 operates at LEED platinum standards with its own solar plant to supply the majority of its energy needs, using limited amounts of water. The Beeah HQ also uses AI tech powered by Johnson Controls\u2019 OpenBlue software to enable energy efficiency with features like automatic light and temperature adjustments.<\/p>\n

Emirates Central Cooling Systems (Empower) won Company of the Year under the <\/strong>energy and utilities category at the <\/strong>Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards<\/a><\/strong>,<\/strong> Wam<\/a> reports.
