The study found that the inclusion of seaweed as 10% of human diets globally by 2050 would sufficiently reduce the amount of land needed for food by an area twice the size of France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where does our region stand?<\/strong> While seaweed cultivation and bioprocessing is still scarce in MENA and GCC areas \u2014 valued at nominal USD 28.9 mn in 2022 \u2014 Tunis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/live-news\/20210623-tunisia-trailblazer-in-mediterranean-seaweed-farming\">made strides<\/a>increasing its red seaweed harvest operations in 2021.
