Under the re-tendering process, the projects will be split into four smaller combined cycle power projects with a 1.8 GW capacity each. Developers that have already qualified for the Taiba and Qassim IPPs will automatically qualify to bid for the new projects, while other interested developers can submit qualification documents, the SPCC website notes.
