<\/a> Saudi Ground Services is getting clean hydrogen: <\/strong>Air Products<\/a>Qudra<\/a> \u2014 the development and investment company of Air Products<\/a> in the Middle East \u2014 inked an agreement to supply clean hydrogen for Saudi Ground Services<\/a> to fuel ground handling services in Dammam Airport, according to a statement<\/a> released this week.<\/p>\n

The details: <\/strong>The partnership will see the airport\u2019s full range of ground services \u2014 including transporting passengers, baggage handling, refueling trucks and more \u2014 fueled by hydrogen in a bid to lower the industry\u2019s carbon footprint in line with the Saudi Green Initiative<\/a> and Saudi Vision 2030<\/a>. No further details have been announced as of yet.<\/p>\n

On the ground and up above: <\/strong>This first ever application of clean hydrogen in the ground handling aviation sector in Saudi previous efforts matches the aviation industry\u2019s attempts to decarbonize the skies. Qatar Airways<\/a> and Etihad Airways<\/a> have recently explored sustainable alternative fuels (SAFs) as low-carbon alternatives to traditional jet fuel to curb greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n

And the sky's not the limit: <\/strong>Air Products \u2014 along with Acwa Power and NEOM \u2014 is part of a<\/a>JV<\/a> to develop NEOM\u2019s USD 5 bn Green Hydrogen Project<\/a>.
