The nonsensical rant \u2014 typical of the former Apprentice host (and one-time US president) \u2014 referred to \u201ca friend of his,\u201d who bought an EV and was not too happy about having to charge the car every two hours \u2014 and sometimes not finding a charging station to do so. \u201cPlease let\u2019s get rid of this stuff. Please,\u201d the poor fellow begged. Trump\u2019s rationale for getting rid of them: Firstly, people can\u2019t afford EVs because they\u2019re \u201ctwice as expensive\u201d and secondly, the batteries are all made in China because the \u201crare earth comes out of China\u201d (he was dean of Geology at Trump U).
