transparent;\">:<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> The facility will process 5.67k tons of municipal waste daily \u2014 including residual materials, such as ash into cement kiln dust \u2014 to generate up to 220 MW of clean energy. Besix will now enter its 35-year operations and maintenance period following full operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Pilot operations began last year:<\/strong> Hitachi Zosen Inova and Besix inaugurated the project in June 2023 and oversaw the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/13a4a0df-e26c-4e8f-b0da-16f8221e73af\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">first electricity transmission<\/a> from the plant in Warsan to Dubai\u2019s power grid in July 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Dubai\u2019s Hatta facility will provide the waste:<\/strong> Dubai has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/d8d21075-d118-46b4-a4e3-52a9c0c364cb\/waste-management,-decarbonization,-and-ev-updates-from-uae,-oman,-and-egypt\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">converted its Hatta landfill<\/a> into a facility for transferring waste to treatment sites across the Emirates. The site will transfer around 20 tons of waste from Hatta daily and an additional 27 tons of agricultural waste from the surrounding region to the Warsan WtE plant. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>And it's not the only WtE facility in Warsan:<\/strong> Dubai <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/5f0216f8-f9f0-4aae-98d3-c4590e280a34\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">finished<\/a> constructing a 6 MW WtE biogas production facility at the Warsan Wastewater Treatment Plant in May 2023.
