The countries involved account for nearly half of all power production in the EU. The joining countries include Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Barbados.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What we know:<\/strong> The move comes as part of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/energyalliance.org\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Energy Alliance's<\/a> efforts to reduce the cost of renewable energy in low and middle-income countries, and reach 400 GW of renewables by 2030 to alleviate energy poverty.
