The plant will process around 170k tons of aluminum scraps annually into low-carbon <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anchorharvey.com\/converting-from-billet-to-forged-aluminum\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">aluminum billets<\/a> to supply local and global markets, and will be located next to EGA\u2019s existing smelter in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi\u2019s (KIZAD) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ewec.ae\/en\/power-plant\/al-taweelah-power-and-desalination-complex\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Taweelah<\/a> complex. It also partnered with BP <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/00a882d3-82a0-414c-945f-6a0da7cb004a\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">in May<\/a> to explore cutting emissions from the company\u2019s calcined petroleum coke supply chain. It was also the first in the UAE to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/f51a2f47-5b47-4d20-bacd-435ad3d82128\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">join the First Movers Coalition<\/a> by committing to sourcing the materials it needs for aluminum production from low-carbon sources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The region is looking to reduce waste across different sectors:<\/strong> KSA's Al Bashayer Company reviewed plans last month for an EGP 1 bn <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/114c93db-1cdc-45c7-9d0e-061c3fefbd71\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">waste repurposing plant<\/a> in Egypt. Oman also inaugurated its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/1d39d86f-62b8-4c96-a01f-035e073ddd63\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">largest e-waste recycling plant<\/a> earlier this month.
