sinking amid threats of taking the issue to court \u2014 but UAE corporate investment holding firm International Holding Company has thrown Adani Enterprises\u2019 secondary offering a lifeline, saying it will invest USD 400 mn in the sale. <strong>We have chapter and verse in the news well below. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG CLIMATE STORY OUTSIDE THE REGION-<\/strong> <strong>The Russia-Ukraine war is <\/strong><strong>likely to spur the global shift to renewable energy and low-carbon power<\/strong>, with governments accelerating domestic energy production \u2014 in areas including nuclear, renewables and hydropower \u2014 amid a surge in energy prices, oil giant BP said in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bp.com\/content\/dam\/bp\/business-sites\/en\/global\/corporate\/pdfs\/energy-economics\/energy-outlook\/bp-energy-outlook-2023.pdf\">2023 Energy Outlook (pdf)<\/a>, published yesterday. BP lowered its 2035 demand forecast for oil by 5% and gas by 6% under its central forecast scenario, compared to its outlook from 2022. The Egyptian company, which installs and operates solar power plants around the country, could also expand its presence in Africa. The company is interested in entering Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa, Abdel Ghaffar is quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH THIS SPACE #2- UAE-France renewables cooperation likely to increase: <\/strong>The UAE and France are seeking to boost their economic relationship in the near future, France\u2019s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on the sidelines of the first Franco-Emirati business council meeting yesterday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/france-says-french-emirati-business-council-will-advance-economic-ties-2023-01-30\/\">Reuters<\/a> reports. Energy is likely to be a key focus, following a strategic agreement signed last year that includes a pledge to cooperate on hydrogen and renewable and nuclear energy.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-07\"><\/a> <strong>WATCH THIS SPACE #3- Emirates Airways has completed the MENA region\u2019s first <\/strong><strong>demonstration flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel<\/strong> (SAF), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303123541\">Wam<\/a> reports. The flight departed from Dubai International Airport and lasted over an hour, paving the way towards SAF certification as a viable green fuel for air traffic. Current certification standards only allow for a 50-50 blend of SAFs and conventional fuel. The flight comes a week after the airline successfully completed <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/2b8c79c2-f302-4ef5-8e81-e9b7c59d4215\">ground engine testing<\/a> using 100% sustainable aviation fuel.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><strong>HAPPENING TODAY- <\/strong>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the EU, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenclimate.fund\/about\">Green Climate Fund<\/a> are hosting an event on green finance in Cairo. The other storage plant will have an output volume of 34 MW.
