The ultimate goal? Safeguarding \u201cclimate vulnerable\u201d communities from \u201crising climate hazards, such as extreme heat, drought, flooding, or extreme weather.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-10\"><\/a> <strong>AND- The IFC is launching a <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifc.org\/wps\/wcm\/connect\/news_ext_content\/ifc_external_corporate_site\/news+and+events\/news\/global-food-security-platform\">USD 6 bn global food security platform<\/a><\/strong>, singling out Arab countries including Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya and Tunisia as being particularly at risk. Sure, it\u2019s more than the EUR 2.5 mn that Belgium promised Mozambique earlier this week. But these sums are so small as to be insulting \u2014 they\u2019re rounding errors compared to the needs in frontier and emerging markets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HAPPENING TODAY- <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IT\u2019S A HUGE DAY FOR all of our besties in banking and finance as Egypt\u2019s Finance <\/strong><strong>Ministry hosts <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cop27.eg\/#\/presidency\/eventsThematicDetails\/finance-day\">Finance Day<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s the big deal? <\/strong>Finance ministers, bankers, investors, multilaterals, development finance institutions, and anybody else with an interest in how governments and businesses alike access finance for climate will in meetings and rountables \u2014 or chatting on the sidelines. In addition to pushing lenders and investors to step up to the plate, state officials are looking at a series of facilitated and sustainable climate finance agreements for developing and African countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly will kick off the day\u2019s proce<\/strong><strong>edings<\/strong>, setting the stage on main challenges and avenues for climate finance. By 2100, should emissions remain high, areas of Bangladesh could see climate change-related deaths rise to \u201cnearly twice the country\u2019s current annual death rate from all cancers,\u201d according to the report. The impact of rising temperatures, which stress cardiovascular and respiratory systems, will vary by region depending on whether or not communities have the resources to adapt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The impact will increase inequality significantly: <\/strong>Workers in industries like agriculture, mining, construction and manufacturing \u2014 who are most exposed to weather conditions \u2014 will be the most affected. Countries like Saudi Arabia have the resources to adapt, but climate change is still expected to increase the nation\u2019s death toll to 35 per 100k, deadlier than Alzheimer\u2019s disease. Communities like Pakistan\u2019s Faisalabad, on the other hand, will witness mortality rates rise to 67 per 100k, causing more fatalities than strokes \u2014 Pakistan\u2019s leading cause of death.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><strong>CIRCLE YOUR CALENDAR- <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawkamah.org\/event\/5233\">Hawkamah annual conference<\/a><\/strong> will kick off next Tuesday, 15 November in <strong>Dubai<\/strong>. meaningful measures on adaptation and more climate finance for communities vulnerable to climate change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adaptation agenda unveiled:<\/strong> The COP27 Presidency took the lid off an ambitious new agenda that aims to mobilize USD 140-300 bn in public and private sector funding for adaptation and resilience by 2030.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Calls for adaptation-focused investment:<\/strong> Bold-name speakers \u2014 including US climate envoy John Kerry, Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman \u2014 called for more adaptation-focused investment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More discussions of adaptation:<\/strong> Two of the three high-level roundtable discussions held \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/cop27.eg\/assets\/files\/days\/COP27%20WATER%20SECURITY-DOC-01-EGY-10-22-EN.pdf\">water security (pdf)<\/a> and climate change and the sustainability of <a href=\"https:\/\/cop27.eg\/assets\/files\/days\/COP27%20CLIMATE%20CHANGE-DOC-01-EGY-10-22-EN.pdf\">vulnerable communities (pdf)<\/a> \u2014 were strongly adaptation-themed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The pool of financing earmarked by rich nations for loss and damage grows \u2014 kinda.<\/strong> Austria became the fifth country to commit to loss and damage financing, following pledges from Germany and Belgium on Monday. (More on that in our next story, below.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In terms of catchy COP27 soundbites, von der Leyen trails behind Guterres: <\/strong>European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen\u2019s call for accelerated action on climate change yesterday was (let\u2019s be honest) nowhere near as catchy as the call by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres \u2014 who spoke of the world being on the \u201chighway to hell\u201d \u2014 the day before. \u201cThe global fossil fuel crisis must be a game changer. So let us not take the \u2018highway to hell\u2019 but let's earn the clean ticket to heaven,\u201d von der Leyen told the summit (<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/7Xgug8VR9n4?t=278\">watch, runtime: 4:15<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>ADAPTATION ROADMAP- <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The COP27 Presidency yesterday launched the <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/climatechampions.unfccc.int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/SeS-Adaptation-Agenda_Complete-Report-COP27_FINAL-1.pdf\">Sharm El Sheikh Adaptation Agenda (pdf<\/a><\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/climatechampions.unfccc.int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/SeS-Adaptation-Agenda_Complete-Report-COP27_FINAL-1.pdf\">)<\/a><\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong><strong> collective adaptation action<\/strong>, in partnership with the UN climate change high-level champions, it announced in <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/11\/COP27-Presidency-launches-Sharm-El-Sheikh-Adaptation-Agenda.pdf\">a statement (pdf)<\/a>. The agenda is a clear bid to zoom in on the need to provide adaptation support to climate change-ravaged communities. It is the \u201cfirst comprehensive global plan to rally both State and non-State actors behind a shared set of adaptation actions that are required by the end of this decade,\u201d the statement notes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The ultimate goal?<\/strong> Protecting \u201cclimate vulnerable\u201d communities from \u201crising climate hazards, such as extreme heat, drought, flooding, or extreme weather,\u201d according to the statement. It identifies 30 adaptation outcomes designed to increase resilience by 2030 \u2014 targeting some 4 bn people, the statement tells us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How will it do this?<\/strong> By putting forward \u201cglobal solutions\u201d \u2014 presumably, the action points of each of the 30 adaptation outcomes \u2014 that can be tailored to the needs of local communities. These focus on food and agriculture, water and nature, coasts and oceans, human settlements, and infrastructure \u2014 and include proposed action for the all-important areas of planning and finance, the statement notes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some key 2030 targets:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobilizing USD 140-300 bn from the public and private sectors for adaptation and resilience.<\/strong> Providing at least USD 10 bn per year in \u201cinnovative finance\u201d to increase access to clean cooking for 2.4 bn people.<\/li>\n<li>Protecting 3 bn people through \u201c<strong>smart and early warning systems<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increasing agriculture yields by 17%<\/strong> and reducing farm-level greenhouse gas emissions by 21%, through a shift to \u201cclimate resilient, sustainable agriculture.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preservation of land\u2026 <\/strong>Protection and restoration of an estimated 400 mn hectares of \u201ccritical\u201d land and freshwater ecosystems. <\/li>\n<li><strong>\u2026and mangroves: <\/strong>Channeling USD 4 bn into protection of 15 mn hectares of mangroves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DECARBONIZATION- <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Remove trade barriers for low-carbon tech, says WTO: <\/strong>The World Trade Organization needs to tackle trade barriers impeeding the sharing and use of low-carbon technology, as part of overall decarbonization efforts, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/res_e\/booksp_e\/wtr22_e\/wtr22_e.pdf\">a report (pdf)<\/a> it published on Monday, with Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala echoing the message in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/cop\/wto-should-attack-trade-barriers-low-carbon-transition-chief-2022-11-07\/\">Reuters<\/a>interview. Tariffs for low-carbon industries are often higher than carbon-intensive ones, the report notes. Eliminating such barriers could boost global exports in clean tech \u2014 like solar panels or smart heating controls \u2014 by 5% by 2030, it adds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Okonjo-Iweala wants to revive negotiations on a global environmental trade agreement,<\/strong><strong> which stalled in 2016<\/strong>, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/cop\/cop27-wto-chief-seeks-revive-green-trade-talks-2022-11-08\/\">told Reuters<\/a>. WTO discussions on how to use trade mechanisms to promote emissions reduction should also include services \u2014 like air pollution mitigation and wastewater treatment \u2014 she added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER PLEDGES-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kuwait aims to be net-zero by 2060:<\/strong> Kuwait is making \u201ca solid, serious pledge\u201d to achieve carbon neutrality in its oil and gas sector by 2050 and in the whole country by 2060, Foreign Minister Salem Al Sabah told state news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuna.net.kw\/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=3066905&Language=en\">KUNA<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standard Chartered, African countries seek to \u201cdramatically expand\u201d use of carbon<\/strong><strong> credits in Africa:<\/strong> A group of African countries, along with Standard Chartered, are backing an <a href=\"https:\/\/climatechampions.unfccc.int\/africa-carbon-markets-initiative\/\">initiative<\/a> that would see 300 mn carbon credits produced on the continent annually by 2030, and 1.5 bn by 2050, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-11-08\/cop27-latest-japan-stalls-once-again-on-carbon-tax-reforms?srnd=green&leadSource=uverify%20wall\">Bloomberg<\/a>noted. The countries involved include Kenya, Malawi, Gabon, Nigeria and Togo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Norway goes big on shipping emissions reduction targets:<\/strong> Norway is aiming to slash its shipping emissions by 50% by 2030, adding new detail on Monday to the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nho.no\/tema\/energi-miljo-og-klima\/artikler\/green-shipping-challenge\/\">Green Shipping Challenge<\/a>\u201d agreement it signed with the US in May this year, maritime news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivieramm.com\/news-content-hub\/cop27-norway-aims-for-50-shipping-emissions-cut-by-2030-73680\">Rivera News<\/a> reported. These developments come as green hydrogen is picking up steam in several countries across the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#1- Commissioning kicks off at Egypt\u2019s Ain Sokhna green hydro plant:<\/strong> The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (SFE), Norway\u2019s Scatec, the OCI and Adnoc joint venture Fertiglobe, and Orascom Construction began commissioning of the first phase of their <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/04\/03\/scatec-inks-ain-sokhna-green-hydrogen-pact-with-sfe-and-oc-68181\/\">100 MW green hydrogen plant<\/a> in Ain Sokhna, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/11\/Fertiglobe-Scatec-Orascom-Construction-and-The-Sovereign-Fund-of-Egypt-start-commissioning-of-Egypt-Green-Africas-first-integrated-green-hydrogen-plant-during-UN-Climate-summit-2.pdf\">statement (pdf)<\/a>. The first integrated green hydrogen plant in Africa, delivered in record time, shows what can be achieved when we collaborate around a shared ambition,\u201d UAE Minister of Industry and Fertiglobe Chairman Sultan Al Jaber said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2- Progress on the Al Nowais Sokhna green hydrogen project: <\/strong>Al Nowais subsidiary AMEA Power is finalizing the technical details for a USD 800 mn 500 MW <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/05\/31\/egypt-wants-to-become-a-leader-in-green-hydrogen-heres-how-the-govt-and-private-players-plan-to-make-it-happen-72375\/\">green hydrogen plant<\/a> in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Ain Sokhna, company\u2019s CEO Hussain Al Nowais told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asharqbusiness.com\/article\/43820\">Bloomberg Asharq<\/a> in an interview on the sidelines of COP27. The agreement will look to help both countries identify \u201cfuel sources and raw material\u201d by supporting existing companies in these fields, as well as supporting knowledge sharing within the overall green hydrogen value chain, the statement notes. Oman <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/e806e16c-672f-4775-8776-6f597297731a\">recently unveiled<\/a> an ambitious strategy to increase investment in green hydrogen to USD 140 bn by 2050.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MORE WIND FOR EGYPT-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>#5- Egypt lands another massive wind farm: <\/strong>UAE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/masdar.ae\/\">Masdar<\/a> alongside our friends at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareiph.com\/\">Infinity<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareiph.com\/\">Power<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hassanallam.com\/utilities\/group-profile\">Hassan Allam Utilities<\/a> signed an agreement on the sidelines of COP27 to build a 10 GW wind farm in Egypt, set to be one of the largest in the world, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/11\/10-GW-Wind-Egypt-English.pdf\">press release (pdf)<\/a>. The agreement was signed in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The details: <\/strong>The wind farm will have the capacity to produce nearly 48k GWh of clean energy a year, and will offset some 23.8 mn tons of CO2 emissions \u2014 equivalent to around 9% of Egypt\u2019s total emissions, according to the statement. It is expected to save the country an estimated USD 5 bn in annual natural gas costs, the statement said. The news comes just a week after Saudi renewable energy developer Acwa Power signed an MoU to build a <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/9928ba0c-825c-418a-8d36-45df5db6fd16\">10 GW wind farm<\/a> in Egypt with the country\u2019s state-owned electricity firms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#6- <\/strong><strong>Scatec wants to add 5 GW to its Egypt wind portfolio:<\/strong> Norwegian renewable energy developer Scatec will look at establishing new wind projects in Egypt with a combined capacity of 5 GW. The firm signed an MoU with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) which will see it conduct feasibility studies for the proposed project, <a href=\"https:\/\/scatec.com\/2022\/11\/08\/scatec-at-cop27-we-need-a-massive-scale-up-of-renewable-energy-solutions-across-technologies\/\">Scatec<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3FYEfMA\">cabinet<\/a> said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25 GW: That\u2019s A LOT of power.<\/strong> It\u2019s almost half of the country\u2019s current installed capacity, which at the end of 2021 stood at 59.5 GW, and more than 7x greater than the country\u2019s total renewable capacity, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meed.com\/egypt-eyes-10bn-renewables-to-replace-thermal-plants\">3.4 GW<\/a> at the end of last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO FROM THE GREEN ENERGY PROJECT PIPELINE-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Egypt is still on track to be a renewables exporter to Europe through Greece<\/strong>, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told Bloomberg (<a href=\"https:\/\/primeminister.gr\/en\/2022\/11\/08\/30584\">interview transcript<\/a>), referring to the EUR 3.5 bn 3 GW Greece-Egypt Interconnector (<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/06\/01\/the-war-in-ukraine-is-accelerating-plans-to-link-our-electricity-grid-to-greece-72429\/\">GREGY<\/a>). Egypt and Greece have also previously announced other power linkage projects, including the USD 4 bn, 2 GW <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/05\/23\/egypt-signs-framework-agreement-with-cyprus-greece-power-linkage\/\">EuroAfrica Interconnector<\/a> with Greece and Cyprus and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/8c0b43d9-331d-4cc8-b164-8133389418aa\">a possible<\/a> further 9.5 GW of renewable power for export to Greece. Greece has also been exploring green hydrogen imports from Saudi\u2019s Neom, with plans to lay a cable connecting Saudi to Europe, <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/f3bb1924-9dc1-4866-b00f-d3f50b07744c\">we reported<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UAE\u2019s Averda, WasteFuel to set up waste-to-methanol plant in MENA:<\/strong> UAE-headquartered waste management company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.averda.com\/\">Averda<\/a> is partnering with US-headquartered low-carbon biofuels developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wastefuel.com\/\">WasteFuel<\/a> to establish a commercial-scale municipal waste-to-renewable-methanol plant in MENA, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zawya.com\/en\/press-release\/companies-news\/commercial-scale-municipal-waste-to-renewable-methanol-plant-in-the-middle-east-announced-during-cop27-wijz0ea9\">a statement<\/a> picked up by Zawya. The plant will produce methanol to be used in shipping from non-recyclable waste currently being collected by Averda, the statement notes. By diverting waste from landfills to produce \u201crenewable\u201d methanol, it will help to decarbonize the shipping industry \u201cat scale,\u201d it adds. The plant\u2019s location is still to be determined, but is expected to be in the UAE\u2019s Jebel Ali. and the green economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sherif El Kholy (<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dr-sherif-elkholy\/\">LinkedIn<\/a><\/strong><strong>) is a partner and the head of MENA at <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.is\/\">Actis<\/a><\/strong>, a private equity firm that has been a top investor in renewables since long before it was cool. PE investment in the sector <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spglobal.com\/marketintelligence\/en\/news-insights\/latest-news-headlines\/private-equity-investment-in-renewable-energy-soars-ytd-70681783\">might be soaring now<\/a>, but the industry has, by and large, been slow on the uptake. Actis, on the other hand, are seasoned vets when it comes to renewables, having been involved in clean energy projects for well over a decade. As COP gets under way, we talked to El Kholy about the role of private sector in the green transition and what needs to happen to draw more investment to the MENA region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ENTERPRISE- Private equity has been reasonably late to climate as an investment theme, but Actis has been head-down in this for a long time. What\u2019s with the lag?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sherif El Kholy- <\/strong>We\u2019ve been down and dirty in this for a very long time: We were one of the first to come into renewables \u2014 we did it at a time when it was niche and nobody wanted to look it. A decade later, we\u2019ve owned, operated and developed 15K MW of renewable energy across global growth markets, and we continue to be deeply involved in it.<\/p>\n<p>Now that it\u2019s becoming more mainstream, the sector is attracting more interest, but we\u2019re longtime investors here focusing on building sustainable infrastructure for a better tomorrow \u2014 it\u2019s just that there are now a lot of followers coming in. Renewables are now firmly a very viable investment and a lot of capital is going into the theme of energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re also now seeing a lot of capital going into newer themes including green hydrogen; climate adaptation focused strategies, such as district cooling, water desalination, and sewage treatment. These are all mitigation- and adaptation-driven themes. So overall, these thematic investment verticals are becoming broader and they\u2019re all intertwined. It's no longer just wind and solar, though wind and solar are the bedrock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: You\u2019ve committed capital there\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>These newer themes are center-stage for us. In the MENA region alone, we\u2019ve closed two major deals so far this year in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/87d395ae-b0c1-408d-8fcb-284d097183dd\">Yellow Door Energy<\/a>, one of the largest solar commercial and industrial (C&I) players in the region, as well as in Emirates District Cooling (EmiCool) \u2014 one of the leading players in district energy.<\/p>\n<p>As a leading investor in those spaces and others, we would like to see these technologies spread across the entire region. The spread has so far been uneven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: How so?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>District cooling is very nascent in Egypt, for example, and we\u2019re looking to bring that very important technology to Egypt with EmiCool. There are massive investments to be made. The same with solar C&I \u2014 the next phase of renewables in Egypt is diversification beyond utility scale projects with a single government offtaker, to commercial \/ industrial scale generation and distributed energy solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: How soon can we expect to hear news on either of those fronts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>Both companies are now in some very interesting discussions and our very clear plan is to support each of them and their expansion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: You mentioned green hydrogen, and certainly Egypt and other regional players are aggressively chasing investment there. But do you think it has legs given the move in the US toward producer subsidies and suggestions the EU could follow suit?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>Everyone is now starting to realize that green hydrogen is likely to be a big thing and they\u2019re putting in place incentives to both lock in domestic supplies and establish themselves as hubs. In our case, Egypt has comparative advantages in being so close to Europe, where EU members have so much need for this form of energy. Add to that our very significant renewable generation capacity and unique renewable energy resources. Egypt has a very clear advantage that we need to capitalize on. We need to become the hub for green hydrogen in this part of the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: Can you see the European Union endowing a fund to pay producer subsidies here for green hydrogen destined for European markets?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>I wouldn\u2019t rule it out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: We\u2019re seeing lots of M&A by GCC sovereign wealth funds targeting western renewables companies. What needs to happen to bring this investment to the Middle East?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>Nothing. It\u2019s coming. I think what\u2019s happening now is at least in part a risk diversification strategy. And you need to remember that capital goes where the yield is. There are good opportunities in western markets right now, so there\u2019s capital chasing it.<\/p>\n<p>But from our experience, the best risk-adjusted opportunities are in global growth markets (GGM), and if anything, the balance is tilting in favor of these markets and not of developed economies. In GGMs, you see risk largely unchanged and yet the returns are attractive and, in cases, improving. In developed markets, you see risk rising, but the reward side of the equation hasn\u2019t gone up in lock step.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: A young entrepreneur comes to you and says, \u201cSherif, I want to start a business that you\u2019d invest in five years down the road.\u201d What would you tell her to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>I think she should look at feeder industries related to renewables. Industries where technological innovations are required to make hydrogen a commercially viable thing. And businesses that further bring down the cost of delivering renewable energy to the market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E: And what about an existing business that wants to put climate at the heart of its business? What\u2019s the first step?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S: <\/strong>It all starts with governance.
